Through their Institute of Sustainable Farming, AES and GSG launch their education initiative. From November 30, 2011 – December 3, 2011, AES and GSG will offer their first Aquaponic Technology and Design Workshop in Apopka and Winter Garden, FL.

During this 3 ½-day workshop, Dr. Rakocy will share his expertise on all aspects of aquaponics, from construction and production to marketing and economics. Registration is now open.
Dr. James Rakocy is the Director of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Agricultural Experiment Station and a Research Professor of Aquaculture. Known as the "Father of Aquaponics," Rakocy obtained his PhD in aquaculture from Auburn University in 1980. Since 1999 the UVI Aquaculture program has offered an International Course on Aquaponics and Tilapia Aquaculture.
